Understand Sites in Measure Ground Control
What is a Site?
A Site in Measure Ground Control (MGC) represents a real-world location of interest where flight operations occur. Sites allow users to tie collected data and data products to one location, track activity, and take advantage of MGC's Site Type feature to track industry-specific metadata relevant to those locations. Mission planners can use Sites to quickly plan and assign repeatable missions and to gain a better understanding of how flight operations are being conducted at each location.

Types of Sites
General
Sites not assigned a specific type are listed as General Sites in Measure Ground Control. General Sites have the following metadata:
- Site Name
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Country
- Address
- City
- State/Province
- Postal Code
Solar
Solar farms ranging from a small rooftop site to a multi-MW solar farm. Solar Sites have the same metadata as General Sites, plus:
- Provider ID
- Service Voltage
- PPA Term (power purchase agreement)
Wind
A collective of wind turbines within the same geographical area. Wind Sites have the same metadata as General Sites, plus:
- Turbine Count
Agriculture
An agriculture facility with crops/buildings located within the same geographical area. Agriculture Sites have the same metadata as General Sites, plus:
- Location Code
- Associated Station Code
- Season
- Crop
- Field Name
- Site Contact
- Planting Date
- Internal Approval Date
Transmission and Distribution (T&D)
Power lines and towers located in the same geographical area. T&D Sites have the same metadata as General Sites, plus:
- Service Voltage
